The Centauri Knot is a popular fishing knot in Australia for attaching terminal tackle. Australian fishermen Geoff Wilson and Dick Lewers say that the construction of this knot applies a minimum of friction and thus does not distort the line.

This is also a good knot for attaching fishing line to a reel. Check out the Centauri Knot and you may find yourself switching to this knot for at least that purpose if not for all of your terminal tackle attachments.
