The Centauri Knot is a popular fishing knot in Australia for attaching terminal tackle. Australian fishermen Geoff Wilson and Dick Lewers say that the construction of this knot applies a minimum of friction and thus does not distort the line.

It seems more and more fishermen are using the braided 'super lines' now. And the manufacturers continue to improve the lines and bring new products to the market. The Tie-Fast Knot Tyer is a handy little tool for tying Nail Knots, which of course are needed for attaching leaders to fly line. The tool comes with instructions but in case you have lost yours, here is an illustration of the steps to tie the Nail Knot with the tool.

We just added the Jansik Special Knot to the Fishing Knots section. This is a very strong terminal tackle knot that fly fishing legend Lefty Kreh gives his vote for tying light mono (up to 20 pound test) to a hook.

The Nanofil Knot, which is really a "Double Palomar" Knot is a new knot by Berkley for use with their new super-braid line. It is also useful for tying in terminal tackle in any of the super braids such as Spiderwire, Power Pro, etc.

The Tenkara method of flyfishing is gaining in popularity here in the US. It is a technique of flyfishing that has been practiced in Japan.

I found this little book, "To Hell With Fishing" at a garage sale in Taos New Mexico a few months back. It was published in 1945 by Ed Zern and it features his little one-page articles on fishing and on the opposite page are fishing cartoons by H. T. Webster. The cartoon below,

Back in 1999 we had this cool idea of sharing our knot illustrations on this new thing called the World Wide Web, aka the Internet. Building a website was pretty easy and we put up our first effort consisting of about a dozen fishing knots. Over the years we have continued to add new knots, re-draw existing knots and a few years ago we started adding animated knots.
